The three then make their way to the castle entrance. Mario arrives outside the castle through a Warp Pipe, followed by Luigi and Wario. This letter is assumed to be a clever forgery from Bowser, who guesses that Mario and his friends would come looking and so employs his minions to capture them beforehand. Princess Peach writes a letter to Mario, telling him to come to her castle because she baked a cake for him. Now it's up to Yoshi to rescue Princess Peach, Mario, Luigi, and Wario from the castle's paintings and walls! Maybe Mario and his friends have been captured in the paintings, too! According to Toad, Bowser has stolen the Power Stars guarding the castle and locked Princess Peach into the walls and paintings. Upon entering the castle, Yoshi discovers that no one is there.
